My First Mothers Day

My first Mothers day begun with Noah fidgetting in his cot beside my bed so I brought him into bed with us. (I hold my hands up and admit he is in bed with me most mornings! I can't help it, I just love snuggling upto him.) It was then time for Noah to get up so Nick did the morning routine; wake up, chat, nappy change, clothes change, breakfast, cuddles, play. He left me to have a lie in like he does most weekends!

Fast forward an hour or so and Nick brought me breakfast in bed which was made even more perfect because he had put Noah beside me and he was babbling and smiling away at me. Having a cup of tea and some toast surrounded by my two favourite men, heaven. I was then given my card and presents which was a necklace with "N" engraved and a beautiful cup with toiletries in. Nick also bought me a personalised mug, which we are still waiting for!

We hadn't made any plans for the day, we just wanted family time. We spend the morning and afternoon together then we decided to pay my Mum a visit. I had already given her her gifts and card on Friday. We also visited my 83 year old Nanna who is forever trotting the globe. She hadn't seen Noah since he was 2 months old so it was nice for her so see him while she was at home. She has a rather eccentric nickname for my Noah, Custard Lips! Ha ha.

After we spent an hour or so at my Nanna's, My Mum, Nick, Noah and I decided to go for a long walk in our local nature park as the sun was out and it's nice to get a bit of fresh air. We had a good natter and laugh on our long walk and we really enjoyed ourselves.

Nick, Noah and I then called it a day and went home to get Noah ready for bed. I did the bedtime routine; nappy change, clothes change, porridge, bottle, cuddles, sleep. Nick made our dinner whilst I did so. I had decided to have an off plan weekend when it comes to Slimming World as I wanted to enjoy my first Mothers day having whatever treats I liked. Nick said he would cook anything or take me anywhere for tea but all I wanted was home cooked fajita's smothered in cheese and sour cream. We had sticky toffee pudding and custard for dessert. It was all delicious!

My first Mothers Day was awesome. Being a Mummy isn't all it's cracked up to be, it is miles more than that! I can't even begin to express how much I love being a Mum and how much I love my Son.

It just comes to show that you don't have to plan some expensive and extravagant to have a really special day.
